Sea turtles of Madagascar

You can observe turtles underwater, while snorkeling. If you are lucky enough, depending on the season, you will also be able to attend to the laying or the hatching of the eggs. Two types of turtles come to lay eggs in this area – the green turtle and the hawksbill turtle. You will see such a moving scene, when the babies rise up towards the ocean at high tide.

However these are an endangered species due to the destruction of their spawning areas by the birds, but also by the local traffic of their flesh for consumption. Local people are very active in the conservation of the turtles species of Madagascar and will be able to involve you in a responsible tourism approach.
